The anti-corruption system is being improved
As is known, during the extended meeting of the National council on combating corruption held on March 5, 2025, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a number of new priority tasks in the field of combating corruption were identified.
To ensure the implementation of these priority tasks, on April 21, 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted two important documents — Presidential Decree No. DP-71 “On measures to effectively organize the implementation of priority tasks identified for further improvement of the anti-corruption system” and Government Resolution No. RP-147 “On measures to ensure the independence and enhance the efficiency of internal anti-corruption control units within state bodies and organizations”
On May 8, 2025, the Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center held a meeting where detailed explanations were provided to the Center’s staff regarding the essence and significance of these documents.
It was emphasized at the meeting that every employee must be well-informed about the ongoing reforms in the field of combating corruption, that fighting corruption is a nationwide task, that a zero-tolerance attitude towards corruption is essential, and that awareness-raising efforts should be conducted among employees and the public regarding the anti-corruption reforms being implemented in the country.
