The Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under the Competition Committee conducted an analysis of retail egg prices in the global market, as well as promising export destinations for Uzbekistan.

According to data from the international service Numbeo, an analysis of average retail prices for eggs (10 pieces) across countries shows that the lowest prices are currently observed in the following countries:
• India — USD 0.75
• Bangladesh — USD 0.97
• Pakistan — USD 0.99

At the same time, the highest egg prices are recorded in the following countries:
• Switzerland — USD 6.6
• New Zealand — USD 5.4
• Denmark — USD 4.26
• Netherlands — USD 4.23
• Australia — USD 4.15

According to this ranking, the average retail price for 10 eggs in Uzbekistan is USD 1.38, placing the country 88th among 101 countries.
For comparison:
• Kazakhstan — USD 1.43 (86th place)
• Russia — USD 1.45 (85th place)

In addition, based on an analysis of the UN Commodity Trade Statistics Database, 131 countries imported egg products worth a total of USD 4.8 billion in 2024.

The analysis also revealed high external demand for egg products in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel, and Azerbaijan. At the same time, Uzbekistan has a comparative advantage in exporting eggs to these countries (excluding transport costs and tariff and non-tariff restrictions) compared to other exporting countries.

The results of this analysis are important for local producers in expanding external markets and increasing export potential.
