Domestic Market Opportunities in the Chemical Industry Analyzed
The Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under the Competition Committee analyzed the level of saturation of the domestic market in the chemical industry with locally produced goods.
According to the analysis, in 2024, 1,883 local enterprises produced 385 types of chemical industry products. At the same time, the domestic market still remains dependent on imports for certain high value-added chemical products.
In 2024, chemical industry products worth USD 3.5 billion were imported from 92 countries. The main share of imports consisted of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, organic chemical compounds, pigments, and other industrial raw materials.
The study showed that the domestic market is not sufficiently saturated with locally produced goods for more than 100 chemical industry product categories.
According to the analysis, these areas offer significant opportunities to expand local production, increase import-substituting projects, and raise the share of high value-added products.
We also inform you that, should you wish to conduct an analysis of additional products and obtain relevant information, you may contact the Competition Committee.
