On 25 June of this year, a videoconference chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held to discuss the development of the construction materials industry. During the meeting, the Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under the Competition Committee was designated as the "Center of Excellence" for the development of the construction materials industry in the Fergana Region.

Following this decision, a working group led by the Director of the Center, O. Jumayev, has been conducting on-site studies of construction materials manufacturing enterprises across the Fergana Region to identify existing challenges.

As part of the latest field visit, the working group visited the "Imkon Plast SEZ" unitary enterprise, which manufactures plastic floor skirting boards and plastic decorative wall trims made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) raw materials for use in the construction industry.

During the visit, discussions were held with the company's Director, J. Toshmuhamedov, on production capacity, product diversification, localization, export potential, implementation of investment projects, as well as existing challenges and possible solutions.

Meetings with entrepreneurs and field studies aimed at identifying systemic challenges and developing practical recommendations for the further development of the construction materials industry in the Fergana Region are continuing.
