Over the past 35 years, competition policy has come a long way — from limiting monopolies to promoting competition**,** protecting consumer rights, and introducing digital technologies.

Greater emphasis has been placed on the scientific foundations of competition policy: the Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection has established research and analytical activities, strengthening research and analysis to support decision-making in the field.

Scientific market analysis has been strengthened: market saturation analyses have been conducted for more than 100 products. Modern econometric models, including the ARIMA model, are used to forecast prices of products such as eggs, milk, potatoes, rice, and meat, achieving forecast accuracy of up to 80%.

New criteria for assessing the competitive environment have been developed: indices focused on business activity, regional competitiveness, and competition development have been developed and introduced into practice. This work was recognized at the “SCIENCE AND INNOVATION AWARDS – 2025” event in the “Best Research Center of the Year” category.

The Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center has been recognized as a research and analytical center: it was included in the TOP 20 think tanks in an analytical ranking of think tanks in Uzbekistan.
