ENSURING A HEALTHY COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT – A KEY “GROWTH POINT” FOR THE ECONOMY

     An article by Sardor Tursunkhojayev, PhD in Philosophy and Scientific Secretary of the Research Center for Competition Policy and Consumer Rights under the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection, was published in the Xalq So‘zi newspaper, covering key issues of competition policy.

     The article provides an in-depth discussion of factors that limit competition—such as market entry barriers, exclusive rights, privileges, and unlawful agreements—and highlights ongoing legislative reforms aimed at fostering a healthy competitive environment.

      In particular, the article discusses:

      - Reforms implemented on the basis of the laws “On Competition,” “On Protection of Consumer Rights,” and “On Advertising”;

      - The importance of transparency in the natural monopolies sector and the development of fair competition in this area;

      - The necessity of supporting the private sector and creating conditions aligned with market economy standards.

The author notes: “If a competitive environment is not established during economic reforms, it will be extremely difficult to overcome monopolies,” emphasizing the need for a systematic approach and strong regulatory foundations.
