The Potential of the Construction Materials Industry in the Fergana Region Was Assessed

To ensure the implementation of the relevant instructions of the Head of State and to promote the development of the construction materials industry in the Fergana region, Director of the Center O. Jumayev closely reviewed the activities of “MODERNA CERAMIC INDUSTRIES FERGHANA” LLC. During the visit, all stages of the company’s production process, organized on the basis of modern technologies, were examined — from raw material processing to finished product manufacturing and quality control. The discussions focused on expanding production capacities, increasing export potential, and creating more favorable conditions for business activities. Views were also exchanged on the proposals and challenges raised by the company. As noted, the Center is conducting an in-depth assessment of the construction materials market in the Fergana region based on the Product Complexity Index (PCI) methodology. The findings will help provide an objective evaluation of the sector’s existing potential and support the development of effective proposals for its further growth. Efforts to support business entities and ensure the consistent development of the sector will continue.
Open dialogues were organized in the Fergana region with representatives of 21 enterprises and business entities operating in the construction materials manufacturing sector.
In particular, Director of the Center O.Jumayev held meetings with the heads of JSC “Kvarts”, LLC “Beshariq Quvur”, LLC “SHAFFOF SEMENT SANOAT”, and LLC “MODERNA CERAMIC INDUSTRIES FERGHANA”. The discussions focused on the further development of the sector, expansion of production capacities, increasing the level of localization, and accelerating the implementation of investment projects. During the meetings, the proposals and initiatives put forward by entrepreneurs were heard, and views were exchanged on measures to support them and address the existing challenges.
A Working Group Led by the Director of the Center Conducts On-site Studies in Fergana Region
On 25 June of this year, a videoconference chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held to discuss the development of the construction materials industry. During the meeting, the Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under the Competition Committee was designated as the "Center of Excellence" for the development of the construction materials industry in the Fergana Region. Following this decision, a working group led by the Director of the Center, O. Jumayev, has been conducting on-site studies of construction materials manufacturing enterprises across the Fergana Region to identify existing challenges. As part of the latest field visit, the working group visited the "Imkon Plast SEZ" unitary enterprise, which manufactures plastic floor skirting boards and plastic decorative wall trims made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) raw materials for use in the construction industry. During the visit, discussions were held with the company's Director, J. Toshmuhamedov, on production capacity, product diversification, localization, export potential, implementation of investment projects, as well as existing challenges and possible solutions. Meetings with entrepreneurs and field studies aimed at identifying systemic challenges and developing practical recommendations for the further development of the construction materials industry in the Fergana Region are continuing.
