A regional branch has started its operations in Namangan

On July 2, 2025, the "Regional Training Center" commenced its operations in Namangan. The Director of the Center, Mr. O.Jumaev, took part in the opening ceremony and presented the goals and objectives of the regional branch. This initiative was implemented in cooperation with the Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the German organization German Sparkassenstiftung. The main objective of the regional branch is to train and improve the qualifications of specialists in the fields of competition policy, public procurement, advertising, and consumer protection, and to ensure a systematic approach to improving service quality in these areas. The event was attended by representatives of the Committee, German Sparkassenstiftung, regional departments of Namangan, Andijan, and Fergana regions, and members of the media. Within the framework of the event, participants exchanged experience, discussed innovative approaches, and outlined prospects for future cooperation. The Research Center for Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Protection places special emphasis on developing regional training hubs aimed at building a qualified and forward-looking pool of specialists in the field of competition.  #Namangan #Training

Integration of Science and Practice

A roundtable discussion on the topic “Integration of Science and Practice” was organized under the leadership of Olimjon Jumaev, Director of the Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under the Competition Committee, with the participation of professors, lecturers, and researchers of the Tashkent State University of Economics. Participants discussed the assessment of the competitive environment, elimination of barriers to competition in markets, reform of public expenditures and natural monopolies, the role and importance of competition in the development of economic sectors, and the scientific and practical aspects of promoting competition. The parties also agreed to cooperate on the development of a competitiveness index, the extensive use of econometric methods to forecast prices of essential food products, the implementation of grant projects in collaboration with international organizations, and the expansion of scientific activities in all areas related to promoting competition and protecting consumer rights.

International Cooperation

Olimjon Jumaev, Director of the Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under Competition Committee, took part in the 9th annual competition Policy conference "Bergen Competition Policy Conference 2025" on June 5-6 of this year, organized by the Bergen Center for Competition Law and Economics (BECCLE). During the event, special attention was paid to the regulation of digital markets, the fight against abuse of dominance, as well as the interaction of antimonopoly mechanisms with social and labor policies. The participants included a wide range of international experts and representatives of leading universities and research centers (The Norwegian School of Economics, The Carey Law School at the University of Pennsylvania, The Toulouse School of Economics), as well as regulatory authorities, including the European Commission and the USA Federal Trade Commission.
