A scientific and practical roundtable discussion was held at The Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under the Competition Committee with the participation of master's students from Tashkent State University of Economics. During the meeting, participants were provided with detailed information on the evolution of modern competition theory, market structures, M. Porter's concept of competitive advantage formation, monopolistic and oligopolistic competition models, and the impact of monopsony conditions on the economy. The discussion also covered perspectives on the development of the competitive environment in our country, the improvement of the consumer rights protection system, the content and essence of the new edition of the Law "On Competition", changes in market relations in the context of digital platforms, and modern antimonopoly mechanisms. The roundtable was held in an open and interactive format, enabling students to consolidate their theoretical knowledge through practical examples. The results of the Business Activity Index for the fourth quarter of 2025 and expectations for the first quarter of 2026 have been assessed.

The Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Research Center under the Competition Committee assessed the results of the Business Activity Index for the fourth quarter of 2025, as well as expectations for the first quarter of 2026, reflecting the business environment and sentiments of business entities. More than 350 large enterprises operating in manufacturing and service sectors across the country participated in the BAI survey via the Committee’s unified Fair Tech information system. According to the survey results, the cumulative BAI indicator in the 4th quarter of 2025 increased by 0.9 points compared to the 3rd quarter and amounted to 57.3 points. Also, the forecast BAI indicators for the 1st quarter of 2026 are expected to be 54.9 points. According to the internationally recognized PMI benchmark, a value above 50 points indicates stable economic growth and increasing business activity. Regional analysis shows the highest results in Tashkent city (61) and Namangan region (60), while relatively lower indicators were recorded in Kashkadarya (50.8), Samarkand (51), and Navoi (53) regions. Overall, the results demonstrate that the business environment in the country remains stable, and large business entities maintain positive expectations regarding future economic activity. An international conference was held on the topic: “Preventing Unlawful Interference of State Authorities in Entrepreneurial Activity.”

On January 29, 2026, in the city of Tashkent, an international conference titled “Preventing Unlawful Interference of State Authorities in Entrepreneurial Activity” was jointly held by the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee, the Commissioner under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. The conference brought together experts from prestigious international organizations, including the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), as well as representatives of government bodies, business entities, civil society institutions, and research and academic circles.
